【摘要】:Thistestmethodisdevelopedforuseinthedeterminationofanticipatedtotalelongationortimetorupturethatmayoccuringeosyntheticsundersustainedloadingconditions.5.1.1Thetestdatacanbeusedinconjunctionwithinterpretivemethodstoevaluatecreepstrainpotentialatdesignloads.5.1.2Thetestdatacanbeusedinconjunctionwithinterpretivemethodstoevaluatecreeprupturepotentialatvariousloads.Thistestmethodisnotintendedforroutineacceptancetestingofgeosynthetics.Thistestmethodshouldbeusedtocharacterizegeosyntheticsintendedforuseinapplicationsinwhichcreeporcreepruptureisofconcern.Theplanestrainorruptureconditionimposedduringtestingmustbeconsideredwhenusingthetestresultsfordesign.Thebasicdistinctionsbetweenthistestmethodandothertestmethodsformeasuringtensioncreepandcreeprupturebehaviorare(1)thewidthofthespecimens(Section8)and(2)themeasurementoftotalelongationortimetorupturefromthemomentofspecimenloading.Thegreaterwidthsofthespecimensspecifiedinthistestmethodminimizethecontractionedgeeffect(necking)thatoccursinmanygeosyntheticmaterialsandprovidesacloserrelationshiptoactualmaterialbehaviorinplanestraintensionconditions.Thecreeporstressruptureofagivengeosyntheticislikelytobereducedinsoilbecauseofloadtransfertothesoil.Theunconfinedenvironmentrepresentsacontrolledtest,inwhichtheresultsareconservativewithregardtothebehaviorofthematerialinservice.Confinedorin-soiltestingmaymodelthefieldbehaviorofthegeosyntheticmoreaccurately.1.1Thistestmethodisintendedforuseindeterminingtheunconfinedtensioncreepandcreeprupturebehaviorofgeosyntheticsatconstanttemperaturewhensubjectedtoasustainedtensileloading.Thistestmethodisapplicabletoallgeosynthetics.1.2Thetestmethodmeasurestotalelongationofthegeosynthetictestspecimen,fromthetimeofloading,whilebeingmaintainedataconstanttemperature.Itincludesproceduresformeasuringthetensioncreepandcreeprupturebehavioratconstanttemperatureofconditionedgeosyntheticsaswellasdirectionsforcalculatingtensioncreepandcreeprupturecurves.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
