【摘要】:Thegrabtestprocedureinthistestmethodforthedeterminationofbreakingforceandelongationisconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsofmostwovenornonwoventextilefabrics,andthemodifiedgrabtestprocedureisconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsofmostwoventextilefabrics,sincetheprocedureshavebeenusedextensivelyinthetradeforacceptancetesting.Incaseofdisagreementarisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestvalueswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldconductcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimenswhichareashomogeneousaspossibleandwhicharefromalotofmaterialofthetypeinquestion.Thetestspecimensshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.TheaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingStudent''st-testforunpaireddataandanacceptableprobabilitylevelchosenbythetwopartiesbeforetestingisbegun.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrected,orthepurchaserandthesuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinlightoftheknownbias.Thistestmethodisnotrecommendedforknittedfabricsbecauseoftheirhighstretch.Somemodificationoftechniquemaybenecessaryforanyfabrichavingastrengthinexcessof200-N/cm(1140-lb/in.)width.Specialprecautionarymeasuresareprovidedforusewhennecessaryforstrongfabrics.Alloftheproceduresareapplicablefortestingfabricseitherconditionedorwet.Comparisonofresultsfromtensiletestingmachinesoperatingondifferentprinciplesisnotrecommended.Whendifferenttypesofmachinesareusedforcomparisontesting,constant-time-to-breakat20x00B1;3sistheestablishedwayofproducingdata.Eventhenthedatamaydiffersignificantly.Althoughaconstant-rate-of-extensionispreferredintheseprocedures,incasesofdispute,unlessthereisagreementtothecontrarybetweenthepurchaserandthesupplier,aconstant-time-to-break(20x00B1;3s)istobeused.Thegrabtestprocedureisapplicabletothedeterminationoftheeffectivestrengthofthefabric;thatis,thestrengthoftheyarnsinaspecificwidthtogetherwiththefabricassistancefromtheadjacentyarns.Thebreakingforcedeterminedbythegrabprocedureisnotareflectionofthestrengthoftheyarnsactuallygrippedbetweenclampsandcannotbeusedfordirectcomparisonwithyarnstrengthdeterminations.Grabtestspecimensrequiremuchlesstimetopreparealthoughtheyrequiremorefabricperspecimen.Thereisnosimplerelationshipbetweengrabtestsandstriptestssincetheamountoffabricassistancedependsonthetypeoffabricandconstructionvariables.Themodifiedgrabtestprocedureisapplicabletothedeterminationofthebreakingforceoffabricswithconstructionsinwhichtheapplicationoftensilestressonraveledstripspecimensproducesfurtherunraveling.Thistestmethodisparticularlyapplicabletohigh-strengthfabrics.MetricEquivalentsin.
